Today was a monumental day in our house on several different levels. Clint started high school today. In just the blink of an eye, he will have his license. In two blinks of an eye, he will be graduating and getting ready for college. Jasmine started 8th grade at a new school. She is in the first group of kids from Warsaw to go to Nauvoo Jr. High. Karly started 5th grade. This means she has a locker and has to change classrooms several times a day. Its the first step toward the increased responsibility that jr. high requires. And lastly, but probably most notably, Melina started kindergarten. This means that for the first time in 14 years I don’t have a little person by my side during the day to care for. It was with some tears that we watched them all bored the bus for the first day. A day for firsts for all of them! And for Tom and I, too.
At the end of the day, they all had a great first day at school. And Tom and I enjoyed an entire day together. Its the first time that I have been able to ride with him without one of the kids. I look forward to more days like that!
