Today is a rainy day. The grass has turned from brown to green in the last week and this rain will make it grow like crazy! I am sure our mower will be running tomorrow. The star magnolia was glorious and is already dropping petals like crazy.
The forsythia was is gorgeous as I had hoped! It is such a cheery bush with all of its sunny yellow flowers. You can’t help but smile and feel good when you look at it. There are some clumps of wild forsythia that grow down by the river. I love looking at them! Such a splash of color amongst the still drab landscape.
It is amazing how we long for spring to get here and how long it takes to get here! Once spring is upon us it seems that everything is in a rush. Things sprouting here, budding out there. And then, like fireworks, flowers burst open and are gone in an instant. We are only left with the green leaves that seem so drab in comparison to the colorful flowers. The rush of spring melds into the laze of summer and we wonder where it all went. Enjoy spring while you can because it will be gone in the blink of an eye!
