Ariel’s Journey

I am a reader by nature. I most generally have a book or two going at the same time. I have always been that way. So when I was approached about reviewing a book and it was about girls and horses, I said yes! Ariel’s Journey by Doug Kane and Christy Wood is a great read for tween girls on up to us old moms.

It is a great adventure story about a group of girls who don’t get along. And how a herd of Icelandic horses use the girls to save their ancestors while teaching the girls how to work together, develop trust and become friends. Ariel’s Journey had me hooked from the first page. I have always been intrigued by Icelandic horses but throw in the time travel, a princess and an evil chieftain and I couldn’t put it down! And Jasmine is just dying to dig into it! I am quite sure that this book will make the rounds of junior high girls at school, too. If you have girls that love horses, this is a must read for them.

Icelandic horses, time travel, a princes and an evil chieftain. What, no prince? :)
