Jasmine and I actually got up with before the chickens and participated in Black Friday shopping. We had great fun despite having to wait in line for 45 minutes outside of Old Navy in the cold. I was so thankful we skipped BestBuy! Their line was ENORMOUS! We decided that we could have skipped the farm store. It was so packed the we finally just left because we were having a hard time maneuvering around the store. We got some great deals at JC Penney though. A nice luggage set (nothing as nice as Rimowa luggage but still nice) regularly $150 for $36 and a winter coat for Jasmine regularly $150 for $28. We also found a 4 handset cordless phone system for $50 at Staples. I love Black Friday shopping but I haven’t been in a few years. Oh, the deals to be had! I even got some of our Christmas shopping done, too. Just some because I know that the deals will get better the closer we get to Christmas.

Black Friday is indeed black, especially when people care more about the deals than others……

Don’t forget about CyberMonday! It’s always the Monday after Black Friday. Sales data was gathered, but I think it was lower than last years. I think more customers are waiting it out as long as they can before they buy, in hopes of prices dropping even more.

Black Friday shopping! That word has a new meaning now. Did you know that an African-American Wal-Mart employee got killed by shoppers who trampled the poor fella in their hurry to get into the store on Friday morning? Next year when you go for Thanksgiving shopping, say a prayer for Jdimytai Damour, the Wal-mart temp in NY who died.

Some of the best deals aren’t tied to specific dates…

I never understood the point of black friday. Just another day in the world of online shoppers.

that sounds like a lot of fun.
definitely pass up bestbuy, every year. they are known for bait and switch, not falling through with offers, and lying to their customers.
it is really a disaster, and it looks like you made out with some great deals elsewhere.
black friday is really fun, aside from the long lines, it is an “experience” that you get to relate with strangers once a year, shopping like crazyy.

Thanks for the suggestions. I need to spend more time looking at relevant subjects as you suggest.
