Warmth

Ahhhhh. The cold snap has finally broke! Today we are supposed to be above freezing. That is the first time in probably 3 weeks that has happened. We have been enduring the bitter below zero cold fairly well. However, its always nice to have a nice January thaw to give us a bit of a break. We have had a fair amount of snow this winter. Right now there is probably 10 or so inches on the ground. Most of that will melt off with the warmer weather. I imagine we will have a few flood watches posted this week because of the snow melt, too. People will probably be getting out their camcorders to record the high water. Hopefully the water won’t get out of control.

I have been spending a lot of time inside or at basketball games. However, I did brave the cold to grab a few shots of a gorgeous sunrise last week.

I love how blues, purples and pinks reign supreme in the winter time.

Just look at the colors that the snow just gathers in.

We have also been visited fairly regularly by an eagle. I am only assuming it is the same one that visited daily last year. I remember that watching for that eagle was my incentive to go out in the cold to do chores every morning last year.

I am so glad this week is going to be warmer. All of the animals were so much more lively this morning due to the warmth in the air. It was nice to see. Hopefully I will be able to get out to take some pictures this week.
