Anyone that knows me well knows that I like spicy Mexican food. The hotter the better. It isn’t all about the heat though. I also enjoy the flavor that the peppers provide. So when I discovered Old El Paso Green Chiles several years ago I was happy. Not only do they add a little heat to whatever you are preparing but they also add some great flavor. I was thrilled when Old El Paso provided me with a “Tackle the Taste” prize pack through MyBlogSpark!
How fun is that? I was able to make some really delicious dips using my green chiles. I made Green Chile Dip for our Super Bowl Sunday snacks. It was pretty good stuff. I also made my own concoction. I melted a pound of Velveeta and added a can of chili, a can of tomatoes and a can of Ol El Paso green chiles. This was the hit of the day! Just scoop it up with some tortilla chips and you have a fantastic snack.
Old El Paso through MyBlogSpark has also given me an additional prize pack to give to one of my readers! I know its exciting stuff! This will run for only 48 hours so be sure to enter quickly.

I haven’t tried this but I’m thinkin’ that putting some in a meatloaf might be good! We use salsa in our meatloaf for flavor and I’ll bet the chili’s would be a great add-in too!

Use them in soups. I also make a lot of dips with them.

Green chile dip I would leave for the hubby and the in-laws to make their magic in the kitchen for all the family parties we have over here! We generally have 1-2 parties/month here and they all do the cooking anyway! I will sometimes make a cheese ring (that they all do love, btw) but I leave any hot and/or spicy to them as I am nothing but an overgrown child with ultra-uber picky tastes! LOL!!!
