When Tom and I were on our honeymoon, we bought a really pretty wall clock. It looks old but it isn’t. That clock still hangs on our wall 15 years later. We have both always wanted an old mantle clock. Tom’s family has several that have been handed down through the generations. We think that is a neat family tradition that we would like to start with our own family. We have never really shopped for a mantle clock but I have looked online at Howard Miller Clocks. They have a great selection of new and antique clocks including Howard Miller grandfather clocks and mantle clocks. They have also made it easy for you to hear the chime on the clocks you are considering by making them available on their site. It is so hard to choose which clock I like best! However, I think this Howard Miller Thomas Tompion Tabletop Clock would have to be my choice. I love the burled wood facing and the glass sides so you can see the clock movement. I can remember as a child being mesmerized by the movements of a clock that my grandparent’s owned. (I often wonder what happened to that clock.) I guess my love of clocks goes back to that clock and has continued ever since.
