School has gotten off to a decent start this year. I mean if you consider already having one home sick decent. Karly’s fall allergies have started already! Aaron had been out sick last week with strep throat. I assumed that was Karly’s malady when she woke up Sunday with a sore throat. I was wrong. As the day wore on she developed sneezing, nasal congestion and a cough. Nope, not strep just allergies! She spent the day on the couch Monday and was well enough to head off to school on Tuesday. Whew!
Clint and Jasmine are settling into their new classes. Jasmine has found that she likes some classes more than she though and so old standbys aren’t as much fun this year. Clint has started his first college course (I suppose one of our next steps is to start checking out Online School Rankings for the colleges he is interested in.) and says that the professor is very dry. A nice start to his college career! He hasn’t said too much about his other classes so they must be okay.
Melina is actually liking school this year. Yay! It’s been a battle to get her to school for the last 2 years. I am glad 2nd grade is challenging enough to not bore her. She seems to have retained most of what she learned last year. That is a good thing. I sometimes wondered if she had really learned anything because she was so bored with school.
So, we are settling into the school routine. Now if I can just get them settled into the chores after school routine things will be peachy! How have your first few days of school been?
